The relentless heat wave continues across North Texas. Highs will once again climb well above 100 through the weekend. In fact, most locations will top out over 105 during the hottest part of the day.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through Thursday. Be sure to keep those heat precautions in place this afternoon and early evening.

While there may be a day or two next week where the heat briefly decreases, no significant relief is expected over the next 10 days.: Clear skies. Low: 83. Wind: S 5-15 mph.Mostly sunny and hot. Low: 83. High: 105. Wind: S 10 mph.Partly sunny and hot. Low: 82. High: 103. Wind: S 10 mph.Partly cloudy and hot with a slight chance for a thunderstorm. Low: 77. High: 98. Wind: SE 10 mph.Hot with sunshine. Low: 80. High: 104. Wind: S 10 mph.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles. According to the National Safety Council, if it's 95 degrees outside the internal temperature of a car could climb to 129 degrees in 30 minutes. After just 10 minutes, temperatures inside could reach 114 degrees.
