Pillars Fund and Disney have collaborated to create a Muslim artist database to bring about change for Muslims in the film industry
on Muslim depiction on screen along with the University of Southern California Annenberg Inclusions Initiative and others.
Muslims were also pigeon-holed by time periods of a film’s setting, with over 60 percent of primary and secondary Muslim characters having appeared in the historical, fantastical, or recent past.
