), the H Street sister restaurant to St. James Modern Caribbean, has recently refreshed their menu with new dishes, marking the most significant menu update since the restaurant opened in 2019.Salt-fish buljol, a classic Trinidadian dish popular throughout the Caribbean and made with salted cod, chopped tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers and served with bakes, a fried and airy dough perfect for stuffing the fish.
Other new offerings include hand pies, an English-style pastry that’s fried and stuffed with either spicy beef or fire-roasted eggplant and served with culantro sauce or tamarind mayo, available during lunch and dinner. Hakka-Spiced Pork Ribs are on the dinner menu and served with a garlic-culantro sauce and pickled peppers, with an accompanying bowl of coconut rice.
