New Orleans-founded frozen-cocktail chain Fat Tuesday has announced plans to open a Huntsville location. The venture, described as “the largest off-premises and take-away alcohol business in the U.S.,” is set to open in outdoor retail, dining and entertainment development Bridge Street Town Centre this fall.

In a statement, Fat Tuesday co-CEO Carlos Araí Jordao said, “The location is a natural fit for our brand welcoming customers from near and far to enjoy fun events year-round, live music and a great food scene. We look forward to welcoming customers who are visiting to experience the pavement performers, explore the cobblestone walkways, or a day of shopping to get the party started at Fat Tuesday.

Bridge Street is one of Huntsville’s five Arts & Entertainment Districts, in which guests may perambulate outdoors with open containers of alcoholic beverages purchased at businesses within that district. The other four districts include MidCity, S.R. Butler Green at Campus No. 805, Village of Providence and Quigly, which includes downtown, Big Spring Park and the Von Braun Center campus.

At Bridge Street, Fat Tuesday will be located next to outdoors retailer Orvis and Moe’s Southwest Grill. Bridge Street opened in 2007 and is home to around 50 ventures. Some of the longest running tenants include Apple Store, H&M and Connors Steak & Seafood. A Cinemark movie theater, Westin Hotel and Hyatt Place Hotel are located there too. Recent additions include aFat Tuesday’s original New Orleans location opened on Bourbon Street in 1984.
