NaviGuide, a new tool from United Church Homes, pairs older adults and caregivers with a service coordinator to help them age in place, find help.

The service, available for a monthly membership of $99, can help older adults age in their homes longer. This is growing in importance as more and more adults take on caregiving duties for others. A poll found that 54% of Americans 50 and over are caregivers for other adults, according to theOften, adult children are the ones trying to care for their parents' health, as well as their financial and emotional needs, Spitznagel said.
The four NaviGuide service coordinators helped 161 people in 2022 and have a caseload of 91 — and growing, said Kim Yoder, NaviGuide program director at United Church Homes. There are also 44 housing service coordinators at United Church Homes locations across the country who can work as NaviGuides in their communities as needed.There is no minimum age requirement to get help through NaviGuide, Spitznagel said, and there are also grants to help those who cannot pay the monthly membership.
