Flames consume an Oakmont neighborhood home as the Glass Fire burns in Santa Rosa, Calif., Monday, Sept. 28, 2020.With wildfires in California expected to only worsen in coming years due to climate change, new data is available to help you determine the fire risk to your residence or business.

Forty-one percent of all properties in the state, or 4.6 million structures, have at least a 0.03% chance of being in a wildfire this year. The number is predicted to reach 5.5 million, growing by 7.6 percentage points, by 2052, First Street's data showed. Three Bay Area counties will likely see the highest increases in the number of properties in the state at that level of risk over the next three years: Sonoma is projected to see a 41.6% increase, Napa 40.9% and Marin 40.7%.
