Red Hill is almost irreplaceable. Outside of war, the fuel at Red Hill supports emergency responses throughout Hawaii and the rest of the Pacific. Powered by gravity, Red Hill is one of the few fuel depots that can operate manually, without exposure to cyber meddling. It supports upticks in operational tempo, supporting naval contingencies and critical events like the biannual Rim of the Pacific Exercise, where a huge multi-national fleet works together off Hawaii.
