Amber Weber and her daughter, Miracle Smith, were found Tuesday in a home in Bunnlevel, N.C., only about 20 miles from Fayetteville, where they were last seen in December 2016. Weber was 21 and her daughter was 1 year old when they vanished,According to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service, police in Fayetteville asked for assistance from federal authorities in February 2021. Weber and her daughter reportedly were victims of previous physical abuse.
U.S. Marshals, working with the ATF and Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, recovered the missing child at a residence in Bunnlevel on Tuesday. The child and her sibling were turned over to the Harnett County Department of Social Services. CBS 17 reports Weber and her child appeared to be in good condition, according to federal authorities.
