North East ISD will provide Narcan, a drug meant to reverse the effects of an overdose, to all schools starting this week.
of an overdose due to fentanyl or related opioid drugs, and all schools will soon be equipped with the medication.
Every NEISD school will have doses of Narcan available at the school clinic, and emergency medical supplies will also be stored at the location, including the automated external defibrillator cabinet. North East Police Department officers will also carry the medication on their person, to be used during a medical emergency, similar to EpiPens.
