Blustery today with flurries around.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The lake-effect snow machine is cranking as cold air with plentiful moisture swirls around the Great Lakes region. Expect occasional snow showers throughout the remainder of the day, some which could bring bursts of snow and a rapid drop in visibility, plus a quick inch of accumulation. Actual air temperatures will be in the 30s, but the west wind between 10 and 15 mph puts “feels like” temperatures in the 20s.
Snow showers continue across the region through this evening. As temperatures drop back below freezing with the setting sun, a light accumulation is possible in addition to a few slick spots on roadways and sidewalks. Low temperatures bottom out near 30 degrees. A few flurries or a stray shower linger into Tuesday morning, but Tuesday afternoon turns dry. However, the sky stays mostly cloudy with high temperatures stuck in the 40s. The wind increases to 15 to 20 mph from the southwest, with occasional gusts up to 35 mph.
Wednesday stays windy with another opportunity for lake-effect snow showers. High temperatures climb to the low 40s at midday, then drop to the 30s as the snow arrives during the afternoon. Another wind day is on tap. Winds this time will be from the northwest between 15 and 20 mph, with occasional gusts up to 35 mph.On Friday, expect a wintry mix arriving during the afternoon with temperatures in the 40s.
