Four community colleges that serve all of northern Arizona are in the beginning phases of a partnership to better serve students and communities.

The four community colleges that serve all of northern Arizona are in the beginning phases of a historic partnership aimed at combining resources to better serve their students and communities.

While the partnership is still in its early stages, college leadership is considering all of the ways that this unified effort could make a difference for students. In the past, there might not have been enough students at each school interested enough to justify creating this program. But combining students from all four schools, they could potentially fill up a class.

According to Diane Ryan, vice president of academic affairs at YC, the majority of students enrolled in the community colleges across northern Arizona, about 75%, attend part time, higher than the national average around 64%. This is just one way that college leadership is working to keep these people working locally when they do ultimately receive their degrees or certifications.
