Anyone who has wanted to see the Northern Lights but does not live in Alaska might have a chance to see them this week.

The Aurora Borealis will be visible across multiple states on Thursday, including: Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Indiana, Vermont and Maryland.Additionally, Canadian cities like Vancouver and Toronto will also be able to see the Northern lights, according to the University of Alaska's Geophysical Institute.

The Northern Lights will also be visible in Alaska, Washington, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio and Massachusetts, and in Canadian cities, such as Edmonton and Winnipeg beginning Wednesday.The best time to view the Northern lights on Wednesday and Thursday is between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Northern lights are typically visible in Alaska, Canada, and Scandinavian countries such as Greenland and Iceland. The best time of year to view them in Alaska is between late February and early April, according to CBS News.
