A century ago, WCAH made its first radio transmissions. Now known as WBNS, the station has become the go-to source for local sports coverage.

“We’re no longer just a radio company,” said Todd J. Markiewicz, vice president and station manager. “We’re a content creation business, and podcasting and time-shifted content is really where the future is headed.”

“That started back in the ’40s and ’50s,” he said. “Every station in town could do the games if they wanted to because that’s just the way it was.” “The FM, when I started, was easy listening,” said Mosic, who has worked at WBNS since 1985. “I don’t know that that format even exists anywhere today, where it was just the old instrumental sort of easy listening music. There weren’t even a whole lot of vocals.”
