OFFICER SHOT: Law enforcement sources say a female police officer was shot in the leg Friday afternoon in Deptford, New Jersey.
The officer was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and was later placed in stable condition, according to the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association.
"I come out, I see the officer laying on the floor, and the suspect was on the other side," a neighbor who wished to not be identified said. "That’s when all the officers came, there was like 30 of them rushed in, and they threw the officer inside a truck to rush him to the hospital." A neighbor described to FOX 29's Jennifer Lee footage of the incident captured by his doorbell camera that is now being reviewed by police.
"Just saw [the suspect] running, holding his waist, running down the street, holding his waist, you could tell something was going on there because it was dark," Danny Howell said. "Apparently [the suspect] was injured or whatever was going on."The NJSPBA posted a tweet asking for prayers for the officers and all members in Local 122.
