A 33-year-old suspect involved in a pursuit with multiple law enforcement agencies is hospitalized with critical injuries after being shot by officers, according to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Wilson County deputies were attempting to locate a man wanted on an active fugitive warrant around 2:36 p.m. Tuesday, according to Lt. Jason Reyes with DPS. Officials said the warrant was out of Guadalupe County for a probation violation.
“It was at that point the officers -- the individual, the suspect, attempted to shoot at law enforcement officers with a handgun. Officers returned fire immediately,” Reyes said. Reyes said while the man continued to evade law enforcement, he fired multiple times at officers from several agencies. He said the man was shot multiple times during the pursuit. It’s unclear how many shots were fired.
