The state of Ohio on Thursday reported 3,668 new cases of COVID-19 in its weekly dashboard update. That averages to 524 new cases per day, over seven days.
A total of 7,274,030 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 66.1% of Ohioans age 5 and up.
Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 22,937 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 1,218 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. And there have been 65,183 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 4,441 fully vaccinated people hospitalized.The total cases being reported likely are understated, as some people do not report at-home tests and others may not test at all.
