Two wins away from becoming the first central Ohio hockey team to win the state title, Liberty faces Cleveland St. Ignatius in a semifinal Saturday.
This is what Charlie Hughes envisioned when he decided to join his friends on the Olentangy Liberty hockey team for his senior season.
Hughes played with the AAA Blue Jackets as a freshman and sophomore and with the AAA Titans in Middletown, New Jersey, last season. “The guys have really bought in and they’re really excited about St. Ignatius,” coach Kevin Alexander said. “We know it’s going to be a heck of a game.”
