The naturalization ceremony was sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. District Court judges and the city of San Antonio. It was held in the City Council chambers.

“I got very emotional watching the video and seeing how many people from many different countries form a single union that makes this country great,” Vigueras told Express-News photojournalist Jerry Lara. “I am grateful to God to be a part of this country.”
