One dead, one injured after shooting inside Richland Fred Meyer; police searching for suspect

UPDATE: According to police, one person is dead and another is injured.

February 07, 2022 at 1:15 pm PSTRICHLAND, Wash. — Richland Police are asking the public to avoid the Fred Meyer on Wellsian Way after reports of an active shooting.

Around 11:04 a.m., police say one person was killed and another injured inside a Fred Meyer in Richland. According to the Associated Press, a white man with a handgun may have fled the store after the shooting.The man, seen in surveillance stills below, was wearing a plaid shirt with a dark-colored down vest, a black gaiter or scarf pulled over his nose, light colored pants and athletic shoes.As a precaution, local area schools were placed on lockdown.
