One person was killed and another wounded in two unrelated shootings three hours apart Saturday in different areas of the city, authorities said.
The non-fatal shooting happened about 5:11 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of 16th Street, a residential area in West Oakland.
A 63-year-old man was shot in the leg during a dispute with another man. Police suspect the shooting was over a financial debt of some kind the victim owed the suspect. The suspect fled before police got to the scene. The wounded man was in stable condition at a hospital. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in the homicide and up to $5,000 in the other shooting for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.
