The Scottsdale Police Department says a man was taken into custody last night in connection to a shooting near Alma School and Happy Valley roads that left one person in critical condition Saturday.
SCOTTSDALE — The Scottsdale Police Department says a man is in custody after a shooting in a neighborhood Saturday afternoon.One person was injured and was left in extremely critical condition, according to police.
Officials advised that residents stay inside while officers searched the neighborhood for several hours Saturday. Police say surveillance videos and witnesses in the area helped identify 55-year-old Patrick Gruchala as the suspected shooter.According to police, Gruchala intended to shoot a specific person at the residence but shot another bystander.Gruchala faces one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
