Subscribers: 'Onward and Upward': Phoenix Center for the Arts picks former west Valley leader as new CEO
Phoenix Center for the Arts has announced Sandra Bassett as its new CEO. Bassett assumed the role on Monday, March 21.
"My university, Kentucky State University, which is a historically Black college, has a saying, ‘onward and upward,'" Bassett told The Republic."When the opportunity for Phoenix Center for the Arts came up, I saw that it has a much larger base of people that it serves. I live in Phoenix and have for many years now. It's a blessing to now be able to serve in arts and culture in the city in which I live.
Bassett, who was born and raised in Detroit, entered the nonprofit world after more than 20 years in corporate business.
