Opinion: Pete Wilson was a leader who followed the law and likely isn't concerned about a statue [Opinion]
” : The obvious answer is no, San Diego doesn’t need a statue of anyone. The statue was donated by people who wanted to recognize the only former mayor to became a governor and senator of California. It’s on private property at no cost to the taxpayers.
Apparently the problem is a festering hate of Pete Wilson over the past 15 years by one of the writers of the essay lobbing for its removal. Knowing Wilson as I do, he probably doesn’t think the statue is needed either. He’s a man of principle and beliefs in the rule of law — undocumented immigration is still against the law.
