Opinion: Political musical chairs costs California citizens millions. [Opinion]
” : The Board of Supervisors has decided to hold a special election to fill the District 4 seat vacated by Nathan Fletcher.
While I agree with this decision, let’s not lose sight that the estimated cost of this special election could be up to $5.2 million. Monica Montgomery Steppe just won her reelection to four more years as a San Diego City Council member, yet she has thrown her hat in the ring to run for supervisor. If she was to win the board seat, will we need to spend millions more to fill her council seat?Let’s say no to opportunist politicians who don’t mind wasting millions of taxpayer dollars to benefit their own careers.
