Opinion: San Diego's unincorporated areas need homeless shelters too [Opinion]
” : It is time for the county as well as cities in the county that aren’t sheltering homeless people to do their part to house those who are homeless in the region.
The county needs to take a leadership role and create shelters in the unincorporated areas. Homelessness is a regional problem and requires a regional solution. If the county and cities in the region won’t do their part, perhaps it is time for the courts to step in and require them to do so.The cities of San Diego and El Cajon are bearing the brunt of the homelessness crisis. Other cities need to step up. Homelessness is a regional problem and requires all to participate in a solution.
