Oscars: Taylor Swift, David Zaslav, Daniels and Keke Palmer Among 398 Invited to Join Film Academy

“The Academy is proud to welcome these artists and professionals into our membership,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang said in a statement. “They represent extraordinary global talent across cinematic disciplines and have made a vital impact on the arts and sciences of motion pictures and on movie fans worldwide.”
Eight individuals — Kwan and Scheinert, plus Colm Bairéad, Edward Berger, Antonio Campos, Lukas Dhont, Ana Katz and Santiago Mitre — were invited to join multiple of the Academy’s 18 branches and, if they agree to become members, will have to choose one to join. Of the 2023 invitees, 40 percent identify as women , 34 percent belong to underrepresented ethnic/racial communities and 52 percent are from 50 countries and territories outside the United States .
If all invited accept their invitations, the Academy’s overall membership will be 34 percent female, 18 percent non-white and 20 percent non-American.The full list of 2023 invitees follows .
