Everything was rolling along trouble-free until Toyota posted an airbag notice.
that have been added for the 2023 model year. When the end of July rolled around, I still hadn't received our individual car's notice of recall. However, the Corolla Cross had just passed the 10,000-mile mark, which meant it was ready to go into the dealership for its second service.
I rang up the local Toyota service center to schedule an appointment and asked if I could also have the Corolla Cross inspected to determine whether or not it was affected by the recall. The advisor said they would be able to address it and I was able to get a time slot for the next day. When I brought the Corolla Cross into the dealership, the service manager told me the car would likely need to be kept overnight.
After a little less than two hours, I got a call from Toyota's service center informing me that the Corolla Cross was ready to pick up. It turned out that our long-term 2022 Corolla Cross was assembled correctly and didn't need to be fixed. I don't regret playing it safe for two months, but I'm still frustrated that I spent the past few months unable to use the front passenger seat.
The rest of the maintenance appointment went according to plan for the most part. The dealer rotated the tires, changed the oil, topped off fluids, and ran a routine visual inspection. Parts and labor would have been $99.76, but our Corolla Cross has ToyotaCare, so the cost of the service was fully covered.
With the Corolla Cross' latest trip to the dealership behind me, I expect the next 5,000 miles to be trouble free. The Corolla Cross has proven to be dependable and enjoyable throughout all of its adventures, and I'm excited to finish out the summer strong with more road trips especially now that someone can keep me company in the passenger seat.
