Any politician who tries to obstruct one's right to vote, should be called out and shamed.
PennLive Letters to the Editor
Up until the past few years, Americans took pride in our free and fair elections. Volunteers from both parties assisted in the process with good-natured honesty and transparency, lately even standing firm in the face of threats of violence. If our American elections are “rigged,” as Mr. Trump asserts, how did he win the election in 2016?
Let’s rise above the negative nonsense. Our neighbors are not liars and cheats, as some loud voices would have us believe. I voted by mail in the 2020 election, and intend to do the same this year. Years ago, local newspapers printed a voting guide before elections and we knew what would be on the ballot. No more since the decline of local papers. Voting by mail provides an opportunity to do a bit of internet research before the election. It’s also imperative that those citizens who cannot stand for hours at a polling place on a work day are encouraged to vote. They count.
