Our recommendation for Frisco City Council, Place 5 | Opinion
As Frisco continues to grow, Rummel is well aware of the need to update the city’s aging infrastructure, and she is behind an upcoming bond package that will allocate half of the funding to street and road constructions. This is a smart approach since developers build their own new roads, while in the meantime, the older streets’ wear and tear in places like downtown is showing.
Rummel advocates for more condos, town homes and zero-lot line homes, the “entry point of homeownership.” This will help the younger workforce, while students coming to the recently opened University of North Texas at Frisco will have rental options as well. Azam, 59 and an accountant, wants to bring his financial expertise to the city and would bring more diversity to the City Council. He offered some good ideas but lacked specifics regarding city policies. He was unable to make a case for why he is a better option than the incumbent.
