The wounded teen who is hospitalized has been charged as an adult with attempted homicide.
WILLIAMSPORT – A 16-year-old boy is facing charges as an adult following an exchange of gunfire in Williamsport that left him wounded.
He has not been arraigned because he is a patient at UPMC Williamsport with gunshot wounds to the abdomen, arm and leg. The hospital does not release patient conditions. As one of the juveniles engaged the man in a conversation, the other pulled out a firearm and fired a shot at him. It missed. The investigating officer told a district judge when obtaining the arrest warrant that the juvenile’s gun jammed and the adult fired approximately 18 rounds.
