“I’m pleased the judge recognized the gravity of her inaction,” District Attorney Tony Matulewicz said. The thrust of the prosecution’s case against Delcamp was she knew Burgess was beating her daughter, did nothing to prevent it and lied to emergency responders about had happened on Oct. 10, 2019.without regaining consciousness. Her head injuries were so severe part of her brain had to be removed because of swelling.
She maintained she tried to get Burgess to stop the abuse and claimed she was too scared to attempt to leave the house they shared in the Trevorton area.spent days with her in Geisinger“She did what she did,” she said. “She has to pay the consequences.” She has never shown remorse, Kegler said. Willis, 53, of Sunbury, was found guilty of obstruction in child abuse cases, hindering apprehension and making false reports to law enforcement and is serving a sentence of 17 months to 17 years.According to the evidence presented at the trials, Burgess on Oct. 10, 2019, became upset with the Arabella, picked her up by the throat, held her against a wall and threw her in the direction of a sofa.
One of the doctors who testified said the toddler might be alive if responders had been advised of the injury because a trauma team would have been ready to treat her at Geisinger.
