The official Pachinko Season 2 trailer has been released for the upcoming return of the hit Apple TV+ drama.
for the next installment of the multigenerational epic drama. The series is scheduled to make its return on August 23, after over two years since the first installment had wrapped up its 8-episode run.
“Based on The New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, it is a sweeping and deeply moving story of love and survival across four generations, told through the eyes of a remarkable matriarch, Sunja,” reads the show’s newest synopsis. “In Season 2, the parallel stories pick up in Osaka in 1945, where Sunja is forced to make dangerous decisions for her family’s survival during World War II, and in Tokyo in 1989, which finds Solomon exploring new, humble beginnings.
Pachinko is told in three languages: Korean, Japanese, and English. It chronicles the hopes and dreams of four generations of a Korean immigrant family. The series adaptation is written and created by showrunner Soo Hugh . It is executive produced by Soo Hugh, Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, and Theresa Kang.
