Will Parasyte: The Grey connect to the anime?

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT How Netflix’s live-action Parasyte: The Grey connects to the anime is a tricky question that one interesting theory tries to solve. After the success of One Piece season 1, which was followed by the release of Yu Yu Hakusho, Netflix has another live-action anime adaptation in Parasyte: The Grey. It must be noted, however, that Netflix's Parasyte: The Grey will not cover the same events as the manga or the anime.

Assuming this theory is correct, Parasyte: The Grey would most likely take concurrently with the events of the Parasyte anime. Characters like Shimichi and Migi would not appear, but their stories would still be happening in a different location. This would make Parasyte: The Grey canon to the Parasyte manga, except that it would be covering one of the countless people infected with the alien organism rather than Shinichi. This would also expand Parasyte’s canon and turn it into a global story.

One of the most important things about Parasyte’s story is how Shinichi cannot reveal to the authorities or his friends what is happening, otherwise, Migi will kill them. This puts a lot of pressure on Shinichi, who has remained silent as countless people are killed by the parasites spread across the country.
