A German woman was annoyed by the sound her hospital roommate’s ventilator was making – so she turned it off and the patient almost died, officials said Thursday.
The 72-year-old woman has been jailed on suspicion of attempted manslaughter in the incident at a hospital in the southwestern city of Mannheim earlier this week. The suspect allegedly switched off the switch to the noisy machine, which she was told was vital for her 79-year-old roommate.The older woman was revived after the incident and remains in intensive care, police said.
