The 34-year-old Mills was the oldest remaining Net and the only player left on the roster with a championship ring, but he played in only 40 games last season with two starts, averaging 6.2 points per appearance.He had averaged 11.
Brooklyn also traded Joe Harris and two future second-round picks to Detroit on Friday for salary cap relief, before re-signing restricted free agent Cam Johnson to a four-year contract worth $108 million.
