Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in El Cajon [Breaking]
A pedestrian was killed late Saturday when he was hit by a sedan in El Cajon, police said.
The man, who is believed to be in his 70s or 80s, died before he could be taken to a hospital, said El Cajon police Lt. Darrin Forster. His identity remains unknown. The man was hit on East Main Street near North Second Street around 10:55 pm. Police did not say if he was hit while crossing the street or if he was in a marked crosswalk.The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the collision at this time, said Forster.
Police reminded people who walk at night to obey traffic signals, cross streets at designated intersections and wear bright colored clothing.
