Mike Pence has been ordered to speak about private conversations he had with Trump leading up to the January 6 storming of the Capitol, part of a federal investigation into Trump.
Then-Vice President Mike Pence speaks about the creation of a new branch of the military, SpacePence spokesman Devin O’Malley said in a statement to multiple media outlets that Pence “will not appeal the judge’s ruling and will comply with the subpoena as required by law.”last month, rejecting an argument from Trump’s attorneys stating the conversations between the president and vice president are protected by executive privilege.
The judge did partially uphold Pence’s claim that certain conversations should be protected under the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause, which shields information about certain legislative actions from investigators, since Pence served as president of the Senate to certify presidential election results on January 6.
