Penn State fans showed up in earnest for the win over Northwestern.
Penn State fans showed up in force for the Nittany Lions game at Northwestern Saturday making up perhaps half the crowd at Ryan Field. They were not disappointed as PSU used a dominant defense and a two-touchdown performance by backup running back Trey Potts to dominate the Wildcats, 41-13 in Evanston.
The Nittany Lion defense registered 7 sacks including a knockout blow on Wildcat quarterback Ben Bryant early in the fourth quarter. Northwestern was held under 200 yards for the day. Eight different PSU players logged a sack on the day. Offensively, quarterback Drew Allar was 18/33 for 189 yards and a touchdown. Running back Nick Singleton ws the leading rusher with 21 carries for 80 yards.
