Dotdash Meredith, which owns People magazine, asked staffers to voluntarily resign their jobs.
Sources were granted anonymity to discuss what's unfolding at People as they were not authorized to speak with reporters. "We realize though, that some of you may be interested in pursuing other paths. For those of you ready to start a new journey, we are offering a unique opportunity," the email continued, before introducing the specifics of the offer. Bock did not respond to a request for comment via LinkedIn in time for publication.
"We value the contributions and years of service from all employees and are dedicated to supporting a smooth transition for everyone impacted last month, including Guild-represented employees," a spokesperson for People told Insider in an emailed statement on Friday afternoon."We remain committed to negotiating in good faith with the Guild, with the goal of reaching workable solutions for everyone.
