Many people attended the Tuesday council meeting, voicing concerns of the potential rezoning of nearly 300 acres of land.

City officials have to decide whether they keep the 300 acres of land the way it is, or change it to accommodate industry.ENTERPRISE, Ala. - City officials in Enterprise adopted multiple ordinances to rezone land from residential and agricultural use to industrial property.

Enterprise City Administrator Jonathan Tullos stressed that there is no plan to have a wood manufacturing plant on the property at this time, but says having this land for industry could be beneficial for the city. Councilman Turner Townsend put the concerns of the people to rest after explaining his experience visiting a OSB plant.

Even with the council’s attempt to put the public at ease, many still left with a sour taste in their mouths.
