A person was shot Thursday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
At 4:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of ShotSpotter activity in the 2000 block of 82nd Avenue in the city’s Arroyo Viejo neighborhood, an Oakland police spokesperson said.
When officers arrived, they found a victim nearby suffering from a gunshot wound, and provided treatment until paramedics and Oakland Fire Department firefighters arrived. Police closed off traffic lanes along Bancroft and 82nd avenues while working to recover evidence, including casings. For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the shooting.
