The diversity office for the School District of Philadelphia encouraged the district's teachers to attend a conference promoting gender transitions for teenagers, and that included several presentations on sex and masturbation.
The Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, which took place virtually in July 2021, garnered viral attention Tuesday after videos were shared on Twitter by conservative activist and Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, who said the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Philadelphia public schools had sent invitations to the conference via email to district teachers and staff. The Washington Examiner asked the district for comment.
