Firefighters were able to save most of the dogs from the early morning fire, but some did not survive, authorities say.Phoenix firefighters responded to a home near 24th and Van Buren streets around 1 a.m. Sunday.
While extinguishing the fire, firefighters located several dogs and brought them out to safety using medical equipment specifically designed for dogs called Fido Bags. Some of the dogs died in the fire. Authorities did not say why there were dogs in the building or if there were any people in the building.
