"I'm at the top of my game," Fisher said, adding that she will miss the"daily grind" of daily journalism."That's not a bad way to go." One story of her impact on a listener that has always stuck with the host is of a woman who said Fisher helped her survive cancer. "I'm somebody they invite into their car every day, or into their home or their office and it's very personal," she said. “That makes it personal to me.”
Soon, she found herself sitting in a tub in Charlottesville, Virginia, crying about how she thought she'd never be able to get back into journalism.
