A Delta plane was struck by lightning during a flight from Atlanta to Jacksonville on Monday, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority confirmed.
at 12:51 p.m. and landed in Jacksonville at 1:58 p.m.
No injuries were reported to the crew or passengers and everyone was able to deplane normally, a Delta spokesperson said. The flight was supposed to head back to Atlanta from Jacksonville at 3 p.m., but FlightAware shows Flight 2990 is not scheduled to leave JAX until 9:30 p.m. Another aircraft will fly this flight, a Delta spokesperson said.“Delta flight 2990 from Atlanta to Jacksonville landed safely after indication of a potential lightning strike on arrival into JAX. Safety is our top priority, and the aircraft is being taken out of service for evaluation following standard procedures.
