Authorities said Bibbs was walking in the northbound travel lanes of Bessemer Super Highway when he was hit by a vehicle.
Sheriff’s deputies responded shortly before 8:30 p.m. to the wreck on Bessemer Super Highway near Sugar Ray Drive in the Midfield area. Once there, they learned the victim had been struck by multiple vehicles and was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:29 p.m. Sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said Bibbs was initially struck by a vehicle that did not stop. After the initial crash, the victim was hit by more vehicles.Anyone with information is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450, option 2.
