The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently released their plan to reduce methane emissions coming from the oil and gas industry.
The proposal would make significant methane reductions from oil wells that leak methane and other harmful pollutants.
To go even further, I encourage the EPA to rewrite the proposal and close the loophole that allows these emissions to be released through venting and flaring. Venting and flaring will allow more and more toxins and pollutants to be released into the air, furthering climate change and putting Pennsylvanians’ health at risk.
We must take action to reduce methane emissions in Pennsylvania. The EPA is asking for citizens to share their concerns by submitting comments by February 13, 2023 via this link:If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
