Captain Pikachu has already proven itself a powerful combatant, both in a real battle against Amethio and in training battles against Roy and Liko, but there's always been something interesting about its movements. Specifically, Captain Pikachu can easily dodge and maneuver in midair, something a Pikachu generally isn't very good at.
Captain Pikachu Might Have a Flying Tera Type It's appropriate that "Captain" of the airship Pikachu would have a love of the skies, of course. More of Captain Pikachu's backstory and how it learned this unique ability will be revealed in the next episode, but it's really remarkable that Captain Pikachu is able to do this at all.
Cap's flying capabilities may in fact be a hint at its Tera Type, a secondary typing introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that can be activated using a Tera Orb, which Friede is known to possess. Friede's Charizard, for example, has a Dark Tera Type, a type which Charizard usually doesn't have. Captain Pikachu may well have a Flying Tera Type, which would see it gaining a crown of air balloons, should it Terastallize.
While there's no telling when Cap's Tera Type will be confirmed, the fact remains that his ability to "fly" is a noteworthy trait that further differentiates the new Pikachu from Ash's. Cap's ability makes a lot of sense in retrospect, as it did use its tail to launch itself in the air back during episode 7's special training.
