Houston police: 18-year-old charged with murder over shooting during $20 drug deal
Police on Thursday said Pedraza was meeting with several people for a drug deal, when they attempted to rob him. A gunfight followed, when Pedraza and the other teenager were hit.
Haynes and two other young men met with Pedraza to buy $20 worth of marijuana, court documents state. The buyers pulled guns on Peraza because they felt he had shorted them in the deal, according to an arrest affidavit. Police used security camera video to identify Haynes as one of the people involved in the shooting. A warrant for his arrest was filed on March 31 and Haynes was arrested in Wharton County on April 5, according to police.Haynes was being held at the Harris County Jail on $300,000 bond, according to court records.
