OAKLAND — A shooting in West Oakland early Monday killed a man, police said.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of Filbert Street about 1:10 a.m. and found a man down on the street, police said. He had been shot at least one time, police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.Police are investigating to determine a motive, and they have not made any arrests. The killing is the 17th homicide investigated by Oakland police in 2022. The California Highway Patrol also has investigated two fatal shootings on Oakland freeways.
